Q: What is Digital Wallet?
A: Digital Wallet allows customers to securely add their Bank-issued debit card to a supported mobile device, such as a smartphone or smartwatch, and use it to make purchases anywhere contactless payments are accepted.
Q: Which Digital Wallets are supported?
A: Our debit cards currently support:
- Apple Pay
- Google Wallet
Samsung Pay is currently not supported.
Q: Is Digital Wallet safe?
A: Yes. Digital Wallet is designed to help protect your debit card information. Instead of transmitting the actual debit card number during a transaction, a unique digital token is used. This helps protect the customer’s card information if a merchant were to experience a data breach.
Q: Can I still use my physical debit card?
A: Absolutely. Adding a card to a Digital Wallet does not replace the physical card. Customers may continue using either their physical card or their Digital Wallet.
Q: Does it cost anything to use Digital Wallet?
A: No. The Bank does not charge customers to add or use their debit card in a supported Digital Wallet.
Q: Where can I use Digital Wallet?
A: Digital Wallet can be used at participating merchants wherever Apple Pay or Google Wallet is accepted, including at contactless payment terminals and at participating websites and apps.
Q: Can I use my smartwatch?
A: Yes, if the smartwatch supports Apple Pay or Google Wallet and has been properly configured with a compatible mobile device.
Q: What if I get a new phone?
A: Customers will generally need to add their debit card to the Digital Wallet on the new device. Depending on the device and wallet provider, identity verification may be required again.
Q: What if my phone is lost or stolen?
A: Customers should immediately use Apple’s Find My, Google’s Find My Device, or their device provider’s security features to lock or erase the device if possible. They should also notify the Bank if they believe their account may be at risk.
Q: Who should customers contact if they have problems adding their card?
A: Customers should contact the Bank for assistance at 256-332-3600. If additional troubleshooting is required, Bank staff will work with the appropriate service providers to resolve the issue.
